Our venues and spaces
Get to know our 11-acre complex of iconic buildings and spaces overlooking the Thames.
We’ve been situated here, at the heart of London, since 1951 when our Royal Festival Hall was built as part of the Festival of Britain.
The Southbank Centre has evolved over the decades since, most notably with the 1967 addition of the brutalist buildings housing our Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room and the Hayward Gallery. And now we put on thousands of events, concerts, gigs and exhibitions every year throughout these venues and other spaces both inside and out.
